Charley O’Hara is a partner with O’Hara Law Firm, PLC, focusing on residential and commercial real estate development and civil litigation in Virginia and the District of Columbia. He concentrates in:

  • the preparation of development agreements
  • the preparation of deeds of subdivision
  • the preparation of deeds of easement
  • the processing of documents and plats through the various county agencies and utilities
  • litigating commercial and civil cases

He has worked on projects from a single unit to over 1,200 units. Prior to forming the firm, he practiced insurance defense litigation with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company and Bromley, Brown & Walsh for 19 years and also worked for Zurich North America Insurance Company. He has tried over 75 jury trials, as well as participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations. Charley served as a mediator and arbitrator under the District of Columbia Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division. He has argued before the Virginia Supreme Court, the Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Charley was born and raised in Falls Church. He returned to Falls Church to raise his three children, all of whom graduated from George Mason High School. Among his community involvements, Charley has served on the Advisory Board of the City of Falls Church Department of Recreation and Parks since 1990, including multiple terms as Chair of the Advisory Board; coached in the City of Falls Church Recreational Basketball League from 1996 to 2010; and served on several City of Falls Church task forces at the request of the City Council.
